Microsoft Offers To Make Good To Xbox 360 Live Gamers

It's been quite a frustrating holiday season for Xbox 360 gamers attempting to get a hold of Live.

Connecting to the online service has been utter hell, and millions of people couldn't access the marketplace and/or play with friends online 100% of the time. It's been maddening, to say the least.

Microsoft has finally addressed the issue and is quite contrite about the situation. In fact, they're giving away an XBLA title to show they feel bad about everything. We'd rather have been able to play Halo 3 online without a hitch...but we'll take it nonetheless.

The word from Microsoft:

As a result of this massive increase in usage we know that some of you experienced intermittent Xbox LIVE issues over the holiday break. While the service was not completely offline at any given time, we are disappointed in our performance. I would like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for your patience and understanding as our team has worked around the clock to return the service to a stable state.
