Mass Effect developer BioWare has landed a spot on a list of the 10 best companies to work for in Canada.
It’s not the first time that BioWare has made a list of Canada’s top 100 employers, but this year was the first time the prestigious developer broke into “Financial Post's 10 Best Companies to Work For.”
The award is especially notable as the list isn’t just for game companies in Canada, but all business types.
"At BioWare, we have always valued our people, and one of our core values is to provide an environment that offers quality in the workplace and promotes creativity. This is why BioWare has attracted employees who come from all over the world,” offered BioWare co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka.
Software giant Electronic Arts last week announced plans to acquire BioWare and sibling studio Pandemic from private equity firm Elevation Partners for $860 million.
With a strong track record including Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, BioWare’s work is always closely eyed by gamers. Currently, the studio is readying the release of Mass Effect for Xbox 360, as well as Dragon Age, a Sonic the Hedgehog RPG for DS and an MMO.
Financial Post’s list includes companies “who offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.”
