PALM BAY — A 13-year-old boy who police said stole a video game system during a burglary while carrying a 12-inch steak knife will go before a juvenile judge later this month.

The Palm Bay boy, whose name is not being released because of his age, was charged with armed burglary and grand theft after police said he was caught jumping the six-foot privacy fence at a home on the 600 block of Alford Street, reports show.

He was arrested July 29 and ordered held at the Brevard County Juvenile Justice Center in Sharpes, reports show.

Palm Bay police said the boy, carrying a black bag, broke into the home during the afternoon hours. Police said the teen was found carrying the steak knife and a stolen X-Box game system.

A court date is expected to be set late this month in juvenile court.
