PS3 games could cost more than $60 USD

In an interview with PSM, Kaz Hirai has suggested that the price of PlayStation 3 games could vary, and some will exceed the $59.99 mark.
The President of Sony Computer Entertainment America accepted that it would be a shock to consumers to see the price of games double to $99.
 "I don't expect it to be a hundred bucks. I think it would be a bit of a stretch to think that we could suddenly turn around and say "PS3 games now $99.99"
So whilst Hirai believes it is an unlikely path to follow, he doesn't rule out the possibility of $100 games in the future. With the cost of developing games increasing exponentially with each generation of consoles, and with the losses Sony will suffer from selling the PS3, it is quite possible for certain high profile games to be priced upwards of $60.
Although Sony is likely to get away with the high price of the PlayStation 3, due on brand identity, $100 games will be a hard sell, and even Sony is not that cocky. Hopefully.
