The xmêlée beta is nearing completion. Gamers are reporting a better game experience with less lag then the other tunnel solutions. This is a direct result of the low game server overhead and reduced packet sizes combined with multi packet encapsulation per frame.

The next step will be to reduce lag and bandwidth requirements even further with a more aggressive packet compression scheme. The final result will be very similar to Live!, but without the monthly charges.
