' Take-Two predicts the next generation will end the sports bargain '
According to a Reuters story, Take-Two predicts that prices of ESPN Videogames sports titles will likely return to previous levels once next-generation game consoles arrive.

Take-Two partners with SEGA to publish the ESPN line of sports titles, developed by SEGA's Visual Concepts studio. In June, the companies officially announced a $19.99 price for ESPN NFL 2K5, a price kept for subsequent ESPN titles. The games have sold very well -- enough that Electronic Arts, which usually dominates in sports titles, eventually dropped prices on its competing titles.

Development costs for the next console generation's advanced technology will likely put an end to the bargain prices.

"We continue to evaluate pricing," Take-Two Executive Vice President Cindi Buckwalter said. "When the next-generation hardware comes out, we do expect to introduce the sports products at premium prices."
