As some of you may remember reading in our story from last week, the French development house Quantic Dream announced that it had terminated its publishing agreement with Vivendi Universal regarding its upcoming adventure title Fahrenheit. Though the reasons for the split have never publicly been addressed, Quantic did confirm that it would reveal the new publisher for its game on November 30, 2004 -- a promise that didn't quite come into fruition.

Quantic Dream has confirmed on its Official Website, however, that it has indeed landed a brand new publisher for Fahrenheit and that the announcement of what company it is will be coming shortly. The complete statement on the developer's website reads as such:

"Quantic Dream has signed a publishing agreement for Fahrenheit to be published on PS2, Xbox and PC. A large amount of people around the world have contacted us in the past days to ask for the name of our new partner and we thank all of you for your kind words, but we still need you to be a bit more patient as we still require a few moments to publish an official statement."

For the unfamiliar, Fahrenheit is a cinematic adventure mystery that follows the exploits of two detectives as they track a serial killer through a terrified urban metropolis. The game is said to incorporate a unique cutscene technology that allows players control of the cinematics that help to tell the story between gameplay sessions. It is also the first title that Quantic Dream has attempted since the company released Omikron: The Nomad Soul through Eidos Interactive in 2000.

We'll be back with more on Fahrenheit (and its new publisher) as soon as new details become available. -- Jeremy Dunham
