Nyko Launches Xbox, GC Wireless Air Flo Controllers
Because you never knew how badly you needed cooling fans.

In its continued effort to combat the debilitating scourge of sweating gamer palms, peripheral manufacturer Nyko lately announced the release of wireless Air Flo controllers for Xbox and GameCube. The GameCube version saw release last week, while the Xbox version just hit shelves yesterday.

Both controllers use radio-frequency wireless technology similar to that employed in Nintendo's Wavebird wireless controller, with error correction to prevent interference from other household devices. Nyko boasts a 50-foot range, 50 hours of battery life, and eight channels so up to eight players can compete (as in a game of Madden NFL and such).

The built-in cooling fans, meanwhile, now feature a variable speed setting. Specific features for each platform include multiple white and black buttons for the Xbox version (there's a set near the shoulder triggers for easier access) and a stick attachment for mounting on the GameCube version's digital pad, intended to provide more effective control for arcade-derived games.

The Xbox version of the controller is priced at $49.99, whereas the GameCube version comes in at $24.99. A PlayStation 2 version is already available, while a PC version is in the works for a later date.
